meow.

I seem to be on a wee bit of an unplanned blog break.

All is well, I'm just spending some time doing other things.... getting ready for the warmer weather, reading some books that have been waiting patiently for me to make some time, and filling some custom Nong orders and long awaited swaps....

Not sure how long I'll take, but rest assured I won't stray too far!

In the meantime, I'd like to introduce the newest addition to the Casa Hyena family:

New Kitten

I found her in the beer garden at work - mewing and hungry but willing to cuddle - and she's been making herself quite at home with us ever since. What a cutie!

She doesn't have a name yet, though I have a sneaking suspicion she may end up named after my single malt whisky of choice - a stray from the pub could expect no less, no?

Any suggestions? Trying to name this cat has me thanking my lucky stars I don't have any kids - they'd be grown up before I'd decided what name I liked!

Anyways - it's over and out for me for now - I'll see you on the other side....

sleep.

I've been sick, in bed for the last little while.

Bed.

And today, just as I was feeling better? Today I have a hangover to beat all hangovers.

Back to regular transmission soon. Sorry about the absence.

If only I could look as glamourous as these people whilst lounging around in bed, feeling sorry for myself. bah.

Anyways, stay tuned. A new member of the Casa Hyena family to meet when I return.

A return.

Ah - back from the hiatus, and just in time to see some early signs of Spring around the traps, including this little bit of goodness spied in the skies on the way to the post office today:

on the street - today

I wonder if the recipient knows that their declaration of love is now extended to all the residents of my suburb?

It's back to work as usual for me - despite the nagging feeling that there must be some children in the house somewhere... (spending a week with the nieces and nephews does have its withdrawal symptoms)....

A package was waiting for me when I returned, with some gorgeous fabrics for a custom order of Nongs - the fabrics are from Cloth, and the perfect way to try something different....

The muted colours are so different to the crazy brights I usually work with - it makes the whole process seem more meditative, somehow. Lovely.

There was also some other Ebay fabrics waiting for me:

They're destined to form a part of my newest venture, which also has something to do with the ten yards of linen I bought while I was away - but the clothing empire will have to wait until I can figure out how one is to pick up a dining table secured from a friend for a worktable, using only a Mini Minor and a 50 kilogram woman to get it home.

Any suggestions?

And just to top off this post, I have a few things to show you for Thrifted Tuesday, gleaned from the always reliable op shops of country Victoria:

I bought about a thousand other things, but the light has gone for the day, and I'm too hungry to take photographs.....

I hope you've all had a beautiful week....
