Here's something I want you to try at home:
Grab a tripod, or stand on a chair, and take a photo of your work surface, and show us all what you're working on......
Here I am sewing the binding onto the pram quilt I'm making for my sister, who's due in October.
Yes, it's pretty much always this messy.
The small suitcase is used to keep all my sewing stuff in, so I can tote it around the house. There's a pincushion there, from my tutorial, and a pile of fabric, with a new Ikea one on top. The machines sit at the short end of the table, which is a big old dining table, so I have the rest free for laying out patterns and stuff.
I like seeing where people work - so give it a go, and send me a link when you do!
next post: number 100 + a giveaway.... woot!

Hrmmm, well I can't take a photo as I am in the computer room at school, but I will describe it instead.
Computer screen, keyboard and mouse confined to a little cubicle. A year's worth of student grime layered upon the desktop. A delicious looking orange, an empty coffee cup from wussy latte, a crumpled up bumper bar wrapper. My student ID casually flung on the desk, ready to be caught up in the piles of paper also sitting there so that I will be forever trapped in the computer room (swipe card entry/exit). My pen perched atop a document about the effects of the global gag rule on unsafe abortion. Yet, no work being done. Yep... that's about it. :)
Your work space is beautiful!!! I LOVE your dining table & the quilt is looking gorgeous. I'll have to see what I can come up with for this challenge. Charge the camera batteries for a start. It's a promise for tomorrow.
oh great idea. my work station looks like an account, crafter, illustrator, and toddler all share the same desks. And its all me!

My tripod has broken, so I will describe the mess. Picture this: an elliptical American cherry wood table, me sitting at one of the long sides behind my Powerbook, on which I’m typing right now, some coffee to the left, tissues, my phone, my cell-phone, pencils, notebooks, rulers, pins and needles, painkillers and screws to put some wheels under my Ikea Snack drawers. To the right, some embroidery yarn and my Provence quilt on with I’m stitching some words, my pincushion from Leisa, the elephant pouch from Katy with some notions, my orange rugged LaCie hard disk, some scissors, an ImageMate to put my digital memory card in to put the photo‘s on the computer, some journals and yesterday’s mail, a knitting book, the remote control for the cd-player, some empty batteries and a pencil sharpener. Behind my Powerbook is the sewingmachine, waiting for me.
Wow! Great minds think alike :)
I Love Your workspace!! and your very cute sewing suitcase. The light in your work area is really good too. I am really hanging out to sew a project again, I'm going to make time this weekend. And I will take a pic too.
Ah, looks so creative and nice.
It looks pretty tidy to me! Unfortunatly I can't take a photo of my workspace because I don't have one (cue violins...) I suppose I could take a few different photos of various cupboards and draws and tables that things are stuffed in/under/behind/on-top-of... One day I long for a big table all of my own!
I want a tripod. If I had one I don't think I would dare show anyone the chaos I work in.... as far as I am concerned, more is more.
a put a little picture of my table here:http://elsiemarley.wordpress.com/2007/10/03/working/
